Hi,

Sorry for a noob question but how do I adjust the preload on the rear and front shocks? When my woman gets on the back, my hugger almost hits the undertray so I also need to stiffen up the rear. There's 2 brass screws on the top of the USD forks, is that the preload?

I looked over the rear shock and can't find a preload adjuster (if there is 1)

regards

Rich

preload on the forks re the two screws yes. clockwise = more preload iirc.

on the rear, the collar that the top of the spring sits on is the preload adjuster

The two little screws on top of the forks adjust the compression, the preload is adjusted by the large hexagon shaped adjustes around the screws.....

compression adjustment is not the two little screws on top at all. only sp forks have these and the adjusters are at the bottom of the fork leg.

Hi,

So there's no rebound settings on the rear?

There's 2 castle looking nuts on the rear shock but they only adjust the spring harder or softer, is that the only setting? Only the rear end seems to rebound too quickly making me feel every little bump in the road.

Or... I could get 1 of these... but the price is £492!! looks awesome though.

On a standard L model, the front forks are adjustable for rebound damping, the little screws at the top and pre-load. You can adjust the ride height by dropping the yokes. On the SP model as rover rightly pointed out they are adjustable for compression damping which can be found at the bottom of the fork.

The rear shock is adjustable for rebound which is a little black knob on the very bottom of the shock there are 4 settings, preload is adjustable by those two castle-ated rings at the top which you use the c spanner to turn. Theres also the two nuts at the very top of the shock where it mounts to the frame which can be used to adjust ride height. Again on the SP model they are also adjustable for compresson damping which is a screw on a remote reservoir.

Hi,

Nice 1 Rob cheers!

I was looking over the rear shock today and found this black knob at the very bottom and wondered what it was. I thought it was something else as I couldn't really get a good look at it. So clockwise on that black knob is more rebound and C/clockwise is less?

Cheers bud.
