heavy steering?

Post by edl »

Why does the steering on my zxr feel heavy compared to my blade is this just a trait of an older design/ weight distribution or steering stem angle or a problem with the zxr?

Also, check the headstock isnt over tight and is there a steering damper?

Check your tyre pressures too, ive had heavy steering before through underinflated tyres.

Mine feels heavy compared to my mates r6 and that weighs roughly the same as the zxr-anything that'll make the zxr more responsive, other than replacing seals and maybe a maxton fork refresh?

Jack up the butt end a few inches.

It will turn quicker than a veggie smelling a bacon sarnie.

You can also drop the front too, I'd start by raising the rear a turn or two on the top shock mount.

The rear shock top mount has two locking nuts, with one below the mount on the frame and another on top. Unlock on the top nut and then wind up the lower nut so the rear end rises up. Don't forget to lock the top nut and replace the split pin!
