Front end wobble

I think ive lost my wheel weights i think as the last few days ive been noticing some quite severe front end wobble between 40-70 mph in a straight line but below 40 seems ok as when i take my hands off the bars they seem very stable but anything above 40 and they wobble quite a bit. but in the corners it feels sound as a pound. would loss of weights cause this or is it a bigger problem?

ye could be wheel weights.........but could be lots of things go round and check wheel bearings, forks, wheel rim etc even check the tyre as they can go out of shape and cause a wobble or as you said could just be the weights easiest way just take it to a local tyre place and get them to balance it for you.

im getting new tyres tomorrow anyway so it might be the old tyres. checked everthing else but ye there is a mark on the wheel bout the same size as the weights on the back wheel. where can i get extras and what weight do i need?

The only way to balance a wheel is with one of the machines use in tyre fitting place

Or you can buy a static wheel balancer like this

Only with one of these can you work out what weight to put on and where.

Any place that is fitting new tyres will do it automaticly as wheel balance will change with different tyres

must of been the tyres cuz its sound as a pound now after the new ones have been fitted BTW Michelin Pilot Power are awesome... only dun 40 miles so far most of them in the wet and they feel so grippy already. cant wait till there properly worn in and its dry

I got the PPs on my R1 too. It runs on rails :smt003

One thing about the R1 is it's got an online. I really notice the difference on the l3. It hasn't and it's a real concentration effort to stop it drifting as your power up the m, way and catching an eyeful of the fiat 500 load of lovelies, should know better really, to find your 3/4 of a lane shifted and thinking f"_&n ell. Must concentrate.
Whereas the R1 ran as straight as a die even on the lowest online setting.

Does any find the same?
Or use a steering damper?
Was it tricky to fit?
