ZXR 400 forks

Hi there, I had new fork seals put on my zxr 400 h1 around 1 month ago and all ready the left side is leaking a bit I look on the forks and there are lines going down them like they have scorched/pitted how do I fix it. thanks.

got any pics? The slider could be ebnt and that will blow the seal quite quickly. And out of curiosity, did you replace the dust seal or the oil seal?

what do you mean dust seal or oil seal ??? I went to kawasaki in cradley n brought some fork seals n went to a mechanic n he took the for apart cleaned them n put new seals on with new oil ? thanks

did you see the video mate, looks like there pitting as there are line marks down the stanchions, thanks

If there is pitting on the stantions that is the most likley cause of the problem. When the forks compress over the pitted section it can rip the fork seal. Happend on mine when i was wearing in new pads. What you can do for a cheap temporary fix is to nail varnish over the pitted sections then wet and dry them down to flush with the stantion. This will help prolong the life of the next set.

so take forks apart n put nail varnish on the stantions then wet n dry sand paper 1000 grit over it ?
