FFS! pissing footpeg bolt!!

Post by MillaMeter »

Hi,

I need to change my gear shifter on my 636 Ninja, (same setup as the 400) I took the whole rearset off, went to undo the bolt on the back... and it just rounded the alan hole. :smt013 :smt013 :smt013

Any ideas on getting this sodding bolt out without damaging anything would be lovely!?

Regards

Rich

Foot rest bolts are threadlocked in..............and that thread lock is factory supplied with a new bolt if you buy one.
Not easy to get it out..................before you started you should have applied heat lots of heat.....................now that it is rounded off you options are limited and will more than likely involve drilling...............

you might be able to bang a spline/torx socket into it.
or a 'round off' socket over the top of it

try the next size up allen key and blat it in with a hammer, bit of heat and bobs your uncle.......failing that cut it off with an angle grinder :smt003
