SIDESTAND

AM I BEING A BIT THICK BUT IS THE SIDE STAND SWITCH THERE TO CUT OUT THE BIKE IF THE STAND IS LEFT DOWN OR SHOULD IT RETRACT WHEN THE CLUTCH IS PULLED IN OR WHAT.

Yup, the switch is there to cut the bike out if you pull away with the side stand down. If you knock it into gear while the side stand is down i do believe it will cut out, if not then itll be just as you let the clutch out to pull away that it will kill the engine.

Personally i flick the stand up before i put it in gear, so what ever suits you really.

yep, you try and pull off with the stand down it should cut the engine, if it don't then you need to look at your wiring, also if you're having problems with the bike running check the switch out, it used to be a very common fault with the zxr400s

and most other kawasakis as well, given the switch is in a place which gets covered with crud.

beats riding off with your stand down though, for those of us who never learn.

Shows what i knew, never thought i had a sidestand switch, shits you up when you turn left withit down :smt004

obviously you don't try it that often, or you'd have figured out there was a switch.
