where does this go?

after rebuilding my bike i have this bracket and funny shape spring/clip left over. can any one help me out by identifying where these go? i think the spring/clip is something to do with the carbs as there is something that looks similar on the microfiche, but i am not sure. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

looks like front fairing and indicator bracket to me but could be wrong

does it not go on the left hand side near the sprocket cover and hold the overflow from the airbox in place?
