seat lock which key!

seat lock which key!

which key operates the seat lock! is it the ignition or the fuel.....or is there another key! HELP! :smt010

Either should operate it, if it wont budge, slip your hand in between the LHS seat panel and you should start to feel a cable, give it a tug and that should open the locking mechanism.

One key should fit all

If you have a bike that has more than one key to open the tank and turn the ignition on then that suggests that at some time a new tank/fuel cap has been fitted.................or a new ignition switch.

Stolen recovered ?
Crashed?
Ex race bike ?

Any number of possibilities

Arent the seat locks all the same, by that i mean i think you can open them with any key as long as it fits in the slot??

That may well be true Rob


But he does have two keys at least he says he does......ignition and fuel

It's not anything to worry about just gives the feeling of something strange ?

yeah does a bit, not that unusual to have two seperate keys. Could just be seized tho...

Hi, I had the same problem and it turned out that mine had seized. I got a one from my neighbor oh his zx6r which fitted nicely :)

mines a real fucker to get into! i think both keys are new cuts and you have to put the key about 2 thirds of the way in and wiggle. all the way in and it wont budge.

both keys fit in the lock but it wont budge lol im assuming the 2 keys are different haha i feel stupid now but i dont have the keys on me to check as they are in the bike 25 miles away :smt010
