race loom no power

ive just completed a race loom on my 93 l model zxr400 as per the loom diagram on the site apart from im running total loss , i need a new starter solenoid as mine has a break in a wire inside that ive tried to fixed but wasnt able to do so , i thought another solenoid of my cbr600 fy 2001 would be the same but when i plug the red connector over the fuse and spades it blows the 30 amp main fuse every time and at the same time makes the fuel pump go like hell for a second , could it be that the wires are different on the 2 solenoids or is it something else , the red connector has to be turned the other way to fit as the fuse is at the other side on the cbr.
