ZXR L1 Dash Lights

Post by Azazel »

Hey,

In the middle of restoring an L1 and just wondered if the dash bulbs could be replaced for a different colour bulb or an LED (green, Blue or white). Wanting the bike to be as slick as possible and I think this would be a nice touch.... :smt007

Hey dude,

If you are on about the bulbs behind the speedo and rev counter then yeah, just make sure the bulbs are bright enough so you can read the dials in the dark.

Cool
You know what sort of bulbs i would need? Or if any other electrics would need reworking if I wanted to put a white LED in place?

you would need bulbs with exactly the same fitting as the standard bulbs

I've got no idea if LEDs come with bulb type fittings on but if they do then again you'll need ones with the exact same fittings as the standard ones unless of course you want to wire in different bulb or LED holders which themselves would need to be then same size and fitting to fit the hole in the clocks

all of which is an excellent example of stating the bleeding obvious in'it

knowning people round your way (present company excepted...) they probably come off other peoples bikes! :pmsl
I do 700 miles a week in all weathers including snow, that's roughly 35,000 miles a year, and some weekend warrior biker has the nerve to get out of his Audi at work to tell me to I was riding far too fast in the wet (over taking at 50... fast eh?).
