Flat battery

Post by bude-zxr »

My battery is not taking charge whilst riding, the battery is fairly new. Could it be the rectifier? Or what else could it be?

Thanks Matt

yes it certainly could be the rect/reg

Could also be a fault in the wiring between the rect/reg and the genny

Could even be a dodgy battery depends on how it has been looked after even if it is newish

As Cargo implies, it could be absolutely anything. The only way to trace electrical faults is with a multimeter and a methodical check all the way through the relevant circuit. A scattergun approach is a waste of time and money. Multimeters are a few quid then off you go. Once you've eliminated what it isn't then you're getting somewhere.

as both have said already it could be anything.

imo, its likely to be the reg rec, happened to me last year, it was also the reason why i had troubles starting the bike when hot.
