clutch switch?

so started to strip so of the electrics off - the lights are gone with the excess wiring etc.. they have all gone.

now down to the side stand - it has a switch, its never worked on my bike, unplugged it and took it off, bike still working, also whilst i was down there, i am wondering if i need the Oil Pressure switch? can i unplug the wiring from it and leave the unit in place?

next im up to the left hand switch gear, pretty much unplugged the whole unit, went to start the bike - nothing, wont start, bricking myself, thought i had blown something, plugged it back in and did a process of elimination, got it down to a clutch switch - didnt even realise i had one! anyways, how do i go about bridging this connection so i can completely lose the switch gear?

dont know, but did you just unplug the side-stand switch and leave the connector block hanging, or have you bridged the connectors in the side-stand connector block?

if not you will be limited to ~4k rpm as a safety-feature, i did this to my bike recently, just unplugged it, reved fine so put it all back together, got out of my side road and the bike died...had to re-fit it on my driveway in full leathers...i looked a tool :D

so i think you need to bridge the connectors for it to think that the sidestand is up and not down...

oh i didnt know it limits to 4000rpm?

i'll have to check it then, as it started up fine, no i haven't bridged the connections on the side stand, the aprilia RS125 had it, was just the case of removing it and was fine, done the same on the ZXR lol

utter nonsense

short out the stand switch wires and that should also resolve the clutch switch issue

bike running fine, unplug sidestand switch and do nothing to the wires, bike gets to 4k and no more, re-attach sidestand switch bike is fine...i dont see your problem?

anyone else care to try it out?

ps cargo, if you looked properly, you will see that i did tell him to bridge that connector in order for him to resolve his problem. :smt015

Get a short piece of wire and connect pin 1 to pin 3. Tape it all up nicely and you're done. Go ahead and lose the switch.
