I've got an 89 H1

Pretty sure it is the side stand switch... Kind of ripped a wire out wheni got anooyed kicking it...

Basically my bikes a pussy in the cold and wouldn't ride out of first. Had the problem before but self fixed.

Want to know how to bypass now but in layman terms.

Can anyone help? I'm not an idiot, very logical and have common sense just need it in simple ish terms maybe even with pictures?

Thankkksdd :D

Have you tried cleaning the switch and putting some fresh oil/grease on it? Chances are the little rod is getting stuck with all sorts that it usually get caked in and can take a while to pop out after the side stand goes up.

the switch works be cutting the flow of electricity between the two wires attached to the switch when the sidesand is down.

so if you want to temporarilly bypass it, unclip the side stand switch and make a connection between the two terminals (bit of wire etc), or more permanant - cut the connector block off (like i did) and join the two bits of wire together...job done.

you can then remove the switch assembly.

Do you happen to have a picture of what yours looks like?

When I get some time tonight/towards the weekend I shall have a go! :)

mines all taped up, as i said, cut the two wires, strip off a bit of the cover and twist the two wires together, bit of electrical tape to keep it waterproof and your golden.

although this method is kind of one-way, unless you dont mind soldering a connector back on if you decide to have the switch working again.

shouldnt take more then 5 minutes.
