standard indicator bulb wattage

right so ive been having problems with my indicators lately (crap quality, rust, blown bulbs etc.) so am looking at new indicators but dont have enough money to get nice oxford led ones yet and my bikes due for MOT soon so trying to get that sorted. so my question is what are the standard bulb wattage as if you use too high or low they dont flash right (which way is it? too high wattage flash faster or slower?) ive checked the manual and microfiches but cant seem to find it and i know if i put the wrong bulbs in it will fail the MOT. Thanks
