Indicator issue

Post by Miles »

Hello, in anyone's opinion would only having the rear indictors on the bike cause them to stay on when I press the switch? I have tried with two different relays. You can hear the relay click on but it doesn't realease

Any thoughts?

It is my understanding that current going through the relay heats a bi-metal strip which moves, and breaks contacts, stopping the current flow. It then cools and contact is made to repeat the procedure. Thus if you are only passing current for one bulb , there is insufficient heat to activate the bi-metal strip. If a car tows a trailer or caravan I believe a heavy duty relay has to be fitted to cope with the extra load.

Problem sorted. As stated, the circut required both indicators on a side to be connected for it too function
