2 new reg/rec STILL over charging! Help!

Having a nightmare with the latest zxr.
Had a fuel pump and battery die on me, replaced. I put that down to a loose earth terminal in the battery. Fine
Fuel pump runs fine, was a cheap battery, died in a week. I Strip the bike down and take a look. Wiring from the REG REC all melted together and the bottom middle pin burnt out. Re wire the whole lot re use the plastic plug and attach new connectors etc (bare in mind I just joined the wires with bullets and then heat shrinked them) and I assume that the REG REC has died, so I replace that too.
I then also bought a Yausa battery to replace the cheap shite thing.
Run a multimeter over it whilst idling at 4k (as per the fault sticky) and it steadily climbs up to and over 15V.
This Screams reg rec to me and no doubt you lot! This will be it's second one in 4 months! Where do I go next?? I'm going through batteries like no tomorrow!
She runs fine whilst using her, leave her overnight and go out in the morning and she's completely dead. No dash lights, nothing. Last time it did that (this morning) I checked and the battery had 0.8V, hence the replacement today.
I know there is a way to test a reg rec using a multimeter but I'll be damned if I know how.
The only thing I can think of is replacing the whole lot of wiring from the REG REC to wherever it leads. Or I could buy a loom.
Any suggestions? I don't want to ride it whilst over charging and have it fry this battery. It's my transport for work though!
