headlight issue please help

Hi guys
i have an l1 , could anyone tell me if the headlight is ment to come on once the ignition is on or after the bike has started , problem being i have no power
coming out of the fuse box on the blue wire , i have checked all the wiring from there to the switch and all seems fine , if i put a 12v feed to this wire then
i get lights but this drains the battery
has anyone else had this issue as im cofused of were to go from hear
i have also taken the fuse box apart to see internals
