Who wants a brand new loom?

Am going to make a new loom for myself in the next couple of months with another forum member who is currently doing all the grunt work making the wiring jig, sourcing wires, connectors etc...so there may be a source of new loom coming onto the market that are better than the old ones - i.e. all the known problem wires will be beefed up to handle the current better, properly insulated and corrosion protected.

just wanted a quick heads up from people who would want one, and a realistic estimate of what you would be willing to pay, so no £20 bids please, a new loom from kawasaki, if you can even find one is £700+, this would be a full loom, with battery connections, and would only be missing the smaller front and rear sub-looms for the lights/clocks. i can then see if we can make then for a reasonable price that people are willing to pay for.

we would require your old loom as we would take the connector blocks off them, remove all the old connectors, clean them up and put then back into service. new connectors can maybe sourced...we will have to see whats out there...

Hey banner I would be interested in one if it was reasonable money.

I'm sure a lot of members here would be as well.

I have a brand new, unopened, zxr L loom which I found at a scrap yard in Australia ( which I got for pennies!) if you needed as a reference

cheers miles, the guy im doing this with bought a donor loom to use as a dummy for the wiring runs, and we have the loom diagrams, that should be good for us.

the looms would be L1-L4, the L5 have a slightly different pinout for the headlights at the fusebox, and im not sure at all about the later models...

what would you class as reasonable money, £50, £100, £200...im still amazed you found an unmolested unopened loom...my worry would be that its still 20+ year old copper wiring, the plastic sheathing goes hard over time etc...hence why we are doing this from new, and it will be designed to take out all the common problem areas that the OEM looms had/have.

Kev1070 made me one in the end...ohelped, but only for a tiny bit of it.

The loom is bang on and for £200 it's a no brainer.

He's currently making a new loom for myself. I'll post a review and a few pics when it arrives.

After chatting to him and looking at banners, I expect them to be top class.
