Hi, just wondering what letter denotes a full power CDI unit for an 'H' model?....I have a letter A on my cdi and someone told me that a letter M is the full power cdi's? Any ideas guys & dolls? Thanks, Karen-Ann x

m "1332" is full power for an l model which wont fit an h model.

yep, L CDI wont fit an H model, you can get round it by using a KMH-MPH converter tho That'll let you go more than 110 at least

to get a "speed restrictor free" cdi on an H you need the uk cdi from an L, and the matching loom to make it fire ..

but yeh, kph - mph converter .. lots easier.

theres no "power restriction" just a speed restriction triggered by a sensor in the speedo, once the needle passes 180kph it tells the cdi to activate the rev limiter..

up to 180kph you have full power

hence, fit a kph to mph converter (so the speedo reads in mph) and its all good, because there's no way your bike will do 180mph, so the restriction never kicks in.

afaik H cdi's are marked 21119-1271 or 21119-1270 they perform identically, have 14,500rpm rev limits* (maybe 14,800.. but im not 100% sure, that may just be the SP.. while the "kit" cdi has different advance mapping and a rev limit of 15,200rpm) and are speed restricted to 180kph

its the 21119-* number that matters, colours and letters seem to be of secondary importance.

*you may well be able to get the rev counter reading 15,000 + rpm .. mine (H1) will hit nearly 16,000rpm .. but hook it up to a dyno, and its clock error, H model rev counters are really quite optimistic, L's seem to be more accurate.

Im in the process of putting an L loom and uk spec L cdi on my H1, for no reason other than it will then rev to 14,900rpm.. but its a race bike.

btw, you cant just unplug the speedo from the loom to prevent the 180kph restriction kicking in .. if you do that, the cdi goes into "limp home" mode, and wont let the bike rev over 10,000 rpm in any gear.
