Does anyone know why my neutral light would be permanently on ? and more to the point how do I fix the problem ?

there is a wire that plugs onto a pin near the gear change it has probably come off, if i remember right you have to take the sprocket cover off to get to it.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

there is a permanent supply to the positive side of the indicator lamp. you have to earth the other side thru the neutral switch to get it on, so either itis knackered (disconnect wire from switch to check) or you have an earth fault on the negative side between the lamp and the switch
