Bonding fairings together

Post by reds »

Like the back end that Jon created on his build: -

viewtopic.php?f=87&t=9318&p=75780&hilit ... eat#p75780

Want to do something similar with mine.

Question is what would I use to bond these together ? is it fibre glass - anoyne have an idea of the process involved ??? I have old zxr 400 fairings to use for teh front and bond to something else

Have seen this thread also

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=11608&p=88978&hilit ... eat#p88978

Looks awesome, but from what I can see in this case instead of bonding to the existing fairing, it ha been chopped and filled - if i went down this road, what would I use to fill teh gap - is it fibreglass again ??

Thanks

Ian

yes you use the fibreglass to bond both parts together or to get the desired shape started depending on where your using it then use filler to finish the shaping and smooth it out

you can get a tin of fibreglass where its already mixed and all you do is mix in the hardener from halfords £15 and a big tub of filler also £15
