Hey guys.
*this is a possible utter fucktard question alert*
I've been looking at my exhaust the other day, and noticed that my can is on a slightly different angle to the rest of the Micron.
Now, I'm sitting here looking at this, and my eyes wander to the pieces of boost pipe I've got kicking around in the garage ready for the now DIW T16 rebuild.
And I sit and think 'hm'.
I know that silicone hoses aren't used on car exhausts because the EGTs develop such high temperatures on exhausts that they would simply melt, but it occurred to me that bike exhausts are exposed to far more cooling surroundings, along with also usually being of thinner construction - re: materials.
So, my question is this - what EGTs do the little four hundreds push out at the silly RPM they rev to, and what temperatures does this generate in the metal of the exhaust itself?
And does anyone know what Silicone hosing will fail at, in so far as temperature tolerances goes?

Re: EGT/ E component T question
silly idea
nice, but silly.
no idea actual EGT, but enough to "blue" the link pipe on my Beet Ti system.
silicon hose is rated to ~200'C .. nowhere near.. but you know that

Re: EGT/ E component T question
Yeah, I knew it.
Still, I thought I'd voice it anyway.
