...a bit of loctite copper gasket sealant?

its rated for 350C intermittent...i suppose it cant do any harm and its such a tiny hole at the moment that something will be better than nothing...will get some new downpipes for it soon, mine are really shagged after 19 years of road salt and corrosion.

was wondering if the exhaust collector is likely to get over 350C in normal use, i.e. not racing? its not a massive hole, maybe 1mm across, but i can feel exhaust coming from it, and i can smell it when im on the bike.

Probably better with a bit of exhaust wrap, i went about 2 months on my XJR400 with a rotting exhaust patched up with some wrap, eventually it got so bad it broke at the headers but the rest of it did the job.

unfortunatly the hole is pointing "inwards" so i cant really get wrap over it as its right next to the collector box. in any case after a blast up to manchester its now turned into a 1" hole...so i will be looking at new pipes...they are really rusted up anyway, some new shiny stainless steel ones will be on order soon, birthday in a week :D
