end can looks really close to swingarm

Post by Deano2485 »

Hi I bought a zxr 400 trackbike last week but on closer inspection the end can looks really close to the swingarm in fact the strap has worn a bit of the pain away is this normal?? If not how close should it be

Their relatively close, I personally think the hanger has a bit too much flex

Im thinking that my downpipes may be bent slightly at the collector then ive only got about 8mm clearance and the hanger strap rubs on the swingarm and has done for a while but the headers look to be right and tight

My can touches the swingarm, need to sort it out but concentrating on getting the thing running first

Managed to sort it out by taking off the end can strap and bending the hanger further out then pulling the can out to reattach the strap ive got plenty of clearance now

If its a slip on system take it to a exhaust place and have it customised into a high level can next to the fairing it shouldn't cost too much

:smt023 Seemed too obvious to suggest, some naughty person has probably dropped it and bent the hanger in.

Mines a 3 bolt hole exhaust, I don't know what to fox thing keeps trying to highside me as I'll and up with only my front tyre, knee and exhaust in contact, so it tries to spin out, catches then highside me, I'll upload some of the damage pictures
