im sure this has all been covered, but you have an L-spec bike, so by putting in the (as you have) M-spec box, you have removed any possibility of there being an electrical/CDi restriction.

if you feel like it is hitting a brick wall im still saying carbs.

what main jets/needles are you running, any shims in there? how does it idle, whats the transition from 2 to 5k rpm like, does the bike pull better with the throttle open and the choke on full?
