Ok want my h2 to have mph clocks so i just picked up a 'l' mph speedo of ebay for £10 posted w00p.

is this a straight swap for my h2 speedo ? also can you get replacement fascias for them so all my clocks match ?

zimms the expert here but if remember right you need a uk cdi too otherwise you'll only get 10k revs out of it.sure zimm will be along to clarify.
Don't forget people there is more to the zxr400 than this forum... check out www.zxrworld.co.uk also.

you'll need a de-restrictor or you'll be limited to 10,000 rpm in all gears

uk spec L cdi, wont work as its an H

Surely the CDI has no effect on the speedo?

Just looked at myn and its cable driven from the front wheel, so should just be plug and play? no?

the stock kph speedo plugs into the wiring loom and sends a signal back to the cdi to tell it wether you are exceeding 180kph or not, if you are it shuts down 2 cylinders. If the cdi doesnt receive a "not exceeding 180kph" signal from the speedo (like when you swap for an mph one that doesnt plug in) the cdi restricts you to 10,000 rpm in all gears.

so my zxr wont do over 180kmh ??? umm what/ how can i get mph without sticker as they look so nasty
