Deristricter

Hello all,

Im battlin to find anyone who can help me out with tips on getting my ZXR derstricted. its an L5 or there abouts and it gives up at 180km/h in 5th. quite irritating and im sure unnecessary. any thoughts?

is it restricted at the carbs or the clock?

Sounds like the clocks if it only goes upto 180kmh, cos thats roundabout 110mph.

You can by the derestrictors off of ebay, i bought one some time ago for 20 quid and not seen em since, but i refered a friend of mine to them and they still supplied him with one.

send em an email and see what they can do, like i say they supplied my mate with one recently no problem.

Wondering Baz if its worth having a word with them see if they can stick a link on the site to sell thier derestrictors???

Yeah i know that, but they werent selling anything when i refered my mate to em, they still sold him one :smt001

yeah bats will sell ya one, be more than the 20 youll pay jem trading, theyll charge you near 100 quid they are that expensive.

I give bats one thing tho, they are damn helpful, when i ordered a rear spindle for my XJR, it was wrong size even tho the parts book said it was right one, they found me right one tho, they called up yamaha and got them to find out what it shoudl be.

Thanks guys,

i disconected what looked like a power cable when i was tinkering and the speedo still works, so maybe that will sort it out.

im actually in Sunny South Africa, so uk bike shops dont help alot, but ill keep looking.

Hi G, u can get an M max derestricter from Mitaka in Jo'burg for R400, R80 installation... (zxr400 l1 to l9)
i am getting one soon :smt003
