as title, and how frequently do you change it?

im thinking along the lines of halfords bike oil changed every 800-1000 miles.

whats your view?

expensive! Oil is good for alot longer than 1000 miles.

Personally i run castrol GPS 10w40 in mine.

how long can it be left? im sure it siad 800-1000 in the book i got with the bike, i probably misread it though knowing me lol

castrol gps cos i can't afford rock oil.Halfords used to make really good oil for cars and i used it for years but don't think i could trust it in my bike.

according tot he manual it gets changed at the 500 miles servive, then the 6K miles service and then 12k and then 18k, i guess that would be every 6K miles then.

well actually, according to the manual it's every 10,000 km, but same difference.

reminds me, mines about due for a change. will probably leave it now and put fresh in in the spring, since I'm using the GPz over the winter.

I used fuchs semi-synth stuff in the ZXR last time. all the other bikes I use halfords semi-synth.

I can be really pedantic and say its actually every 6214 miles, but i wont

i used halfords stuff in my modded rover turbo and it was fine, i did change it every 3k mind.

ill probably use it in the bike too, halfords stuff used (not sure these days) to be made by comma

the halfords stuff is ok, ive used it before.. generally change oil/filter every 3-4k though, so it doesnt really have time to go manky.

cool, i see no reason why it wont be up to the job.

Isnt oil so good these days that you should worry more about changing the filter regularly?

ive been and got some halfords stuff, bought 2 five litre ones and i have 3 filters here so i have enough oil/filters for 3 changes at a grand price of £54

Where do you get the oil filters from? halfords also?

yeah you should be able to get one from halfords, they do stock a good range.hey i wonder if i can get a discount from them now my sis in law works for them
