oil and coolant bleeding questions?

Hi i've done a search and can't seem to find anything. what oil can i use on my bike engine i've got some 10w/40 mobil 1 semi synthetic is that any good or do i need specific bike oils? sorry it's a dumb question but i'm new to bikes :smt003 . also how do i go about bleeding the coolant system or does it not need it just fill with water antifreeze from the header tank? Thanks Daz

HI MATE THAT OIL IS FINE, DONT THINK U NEED TO BLEED IT, WHEN YOU REFILL THE COOLANT JUST HAVE THE ENGINE RUNNING AND KEEP TOPPING IT UP AS IT GOES DOWN, TILL ITS FULL

Im no expert on oils but i think there are specific additives to bike oils which arent added to car oil (wet clutch etc). There is a guy on here - "Oilman" who could help you with that one.

i think shell semi synth bike oil is what i used

Ok thanks i'll get some specific oil its just i have loads of car oil an wondered if it would do? Cheers

There are additives in car oil that can have an adverse effect on your clutch.

sorry mate i assumed when you said you had the oil that it was bike oil, my mistake
