Gear Oil

Post by Miles »

This maybe a stupid question but I take it there isn't separate gear oil and the zxr uses the engine oil to do both. Just thinking as I never changed it if there's is and it might be filled with water. (there was 3 liters of water in the sump)

lol yes it was water. My ZXR was completly submerged. Had to borrow a friends JCB to get it out. Removed the sump and it just started pissing water. Eventually oil came out.

Luckly when I knew i wasn't going to make the left hander and i saw i was heading for barb wire and quite alot of water i hit the kill switch so the engine would have just filled with the water as opposied to 'sucking' it in.
