got some really strange clicking/ticking sounds

my zxr is making some horrid sounds from around the engine bay, iv put a video up on youtube so please watch it and let me now if you can help.
it will only rev to 12,000 (only ) apose to 14,500+. and the faster i go the louder and faster the ticking gets and its really loud!

first thing first, stop starting and revving it, chances are you could be making it worse.

Initially that sounds like a badly adjusted valve clearance, possibly a severley worn cam lobe. When did it start doing this? And how has it been running temperature wise?

It started earlier this afternoon so I came home and slowed right down, it all seems to be runnning hot and the frame also was hotter than usual. If its running tho after a while the ticking cuts out until you open the throtle

sounds like valves to me, you want to check them asap, i wouldn't ride the bike if the sound is still occurring nor would i start it until the problem has been solved

that actually sounded really horrible in the video.
