Bike losing power when warm/hot

Hi there,

I've got a ZXR400L3 and the problem is that after about 10-20 mins of riding it starts to lose power and just won't rev up quickly or very high it then sometimes when coming to a halt cuts out and I've even set the rev to around 2k to try and stop this.

Checked the plugs and carburettor and everything seems fine also been using redex but no luck so far. Any Ideas?

charging system - battery is being drained

could be pick up coil or regulator rectifier

in this case to me it sounds like the reg/rec

get a multimeter and do the checks on the charging system!

Thanks for the post!

Could it also be due to a knackered battery? Since this was a project bike and the battery has been re-charged many times whilst previously trying to get it going.
