Slight running issue.

Post by Tinman »

I've just bought a lovely little zxr. It has a small starting and running issue

When starting the bike it requires a little bit of throttle before it will catch. My other two bikes don't do this. Next up when you come to a stop and pull the clutch in the revs hover around the 3000 mark before dropping back down to the idle speed. Some times when I'm riding the bike on a closed throttle I can feel it driving forward a little too much rather than slowing down like it should do.

Thanks.

The "sticky" revs are usually a results of an air leak eg around the inlet rubbers, or dirty carbs. If the revs drop slowly after you have rolled the throttle off the cable could need looked at oiled, routing checked
