Well i went to a bike meet on wednesday and just been speaking to my mate who was behinde me, and he reckons when i accelerate hard i am getting a big flame coming out of the zaust for around 3 seconds. And ideas were this excess petrol would be coming from? Or what to look for?

Yeah sounds great, it will be either a exhaust system not sealing properly (ie letting air in) tighten everything up and make sure shes not blowing.
Over fueling clearly, get on dyno and have carbs balenced and rejeted to suit would sort it.
You say does it when u accelerate? thats worring, should do it on over run when u close throttle at high revs
