WHile on my way to wokr my engine concked out, causing me to depressingly call the breakdonw service

BUt im wondering if you lot had any ideas what it could be. On one road i got too 10,500RPM then it bounced to 14,000RPM(in first....wich scared me to say teh least, Then on the next road i accelrated hit 4th, then at 8000RPM had a lack of power and revs falling, then i went to drop a gear and then engine cut out?


any ideas?

had a odd smell after and was being very loud...looks as if a header pipe has come loose from closer inspection.

sounds like 3 things in one there ..

jump to 14k, >> clutch slip ? chain jumping on sprockets ?

lack of power and cutting out >> run out of fuel ? partial seizure ?

being loud/smells funny >> exhaust fell off ?

does it still run ?

well i don't think its cluth as it splutred before it happned...petrol yes, and won't even turn over. STarter makeas a clicking sound. but no movement.

your engines seized?

i guess....expensive? don't knwo if i want to know actually.

sounds like the bottom end has seized up.. new engine time really if thats the case, as it normally works out cheaper than repair..

if you put it in gear can you get the engine to turn over by rocking the bike backwards and forwards ?

whereabouts are you in Nottingham? cos im over that way sometimes give me a shout if you want a hand diagnosing or fitting

Beeston, chilwell area. Its lucky really, the guys i bought it off at project bikes, told me any big jobs soon after i bought it they would sort. SO hopefully should be a free repair or a cheap jobbie.
