Almost done -but need help

Hey guys,
I'm almost done sorting out the small issues with the bike but need some advise on a couple of things;
1) New full exhaust system - DONE
2) Speedo cable - Done
3) Stand switch - Done
Now though - took the bike for a short ride yesterday and at somewhere about 10k rpm there is a flat spot and then it opens up freely all the way. It has been standing for sometime so it might be that it just needs a good thrashing or what else??
The engine has the top end rattling issue and it's not the cam chain tensioner - any suggestions for a mechanic around Manchester that could help?
Finally, anyone have any front tyres for sale - for trackday use?
Thanks

you say you fitted a new exhaust .. OE or aftermarket ? maybe it just needs re-jetting/setting up to match ..
as for rattling. it'll either be valve clearances, or a worn rocker arm.

it's OE downpipes with a Two Brothers end can.....apparently it used to do it before.
You know of anyone around M'cr that could have a look at it?
Cheers

Stick a (long) screwdriver against the rocker cover on put the handle hard against your ear, if the cam tolerances are off, you'll hear the ticking from there.
Try again at the top 1/3 of the barrels, if the ticking is more pronounced there, you could need new small end bearings.
Do both sides of the engine and remember there is a cam chain in there too

I've done this and I can hear the ticking from the rocker cover - somebody else suggested tappets (spelling)? The cam chain tensioner has been checked and it's fine

The chain may well be correctly tensioned, but the gaps on the cams can still be out.
Time to get familiar with feeler gauges my friend

about the stutter at 10k, mine did that, turns out the bungs on the top of the air box were missing, looked like some1 in the past had put gaffer tape there, i used roofing flashing, did the job, no stutter. bungs would probs work too!
hope that helps...
