cheers mate, but i dont think i am having the same problems as you
my bike runs absolutely fine except coming from high speed to clutch in and the cutting out, from which i can just start it back up and carry on. It idles fine, runs fine around town.
but i will keep it in mind

millameter mines doing the same as youres was, the spluttering around 4k, cutting out etc, how did you seal up the rubbers? at the block or carbs?

Go down to your local car accessories shop and get hold of some silicone gasket sealer any will do as long as it can stand temperatures over 100oC.
Take the tank, airbox, carbs and manifold rubbers off (what the carbs slip into) and just go silicone gasket happy on the block. Leave until touch dry, then whack the rubbers on and bolt her all up!
