Very intermitent starting problem

My L1 has recently developed a very intermitent starting problem which is getting really annoying!
It used to fire up first time, everytime, now it seems to randomly not fire up!
Just been out on it today, started first time, idled for a couple minutes, then i switched it off and left it for a few minutes, tried to start it up again and it just turned over but wouldnt start. left it another few minutes, then it fired up immediately. Let it idle for a while then turned it off, and after a couple of minutes started it again and it fired up immediately!
Dont think its the hot starting problem these suffer from as when left for a few hours the other day it took ages to fire up.
Becoming really annoying at petrol stations!! :smt013
Also after it wouldnt start the other day tried to bump it and it wouldnt, but a few minutes later it fired up off the button immediately!!
Any suggestions!?
