flooded???

Post by lewisdale »

put my rebuilt carbs on the bike the other day and it seemed to fire up and run better than it ever has done!!! went to start it yesterday and the battery sounded a bit flat and i think i flooded it,charged battery overnight, went to bike this morning and took plugs out for about 45 mins, put, them bk in and the bike did try to fire, then eventuially backfired and nothing atall, do you reckon this was because the bike was still flooded and i need to leave the plugs out longer? i have now taken them out and will put them back in in the morning and see what happens, just wanted youre opinions really to confirm what i thinks wrong

if it has flooded, then its always a good idea to heat them up on the stove/oven, gas flame ones i find are best. Might be a good idea to take it for a run, constant starting takes a hell of alot out of a battery and that could be why it seemed to go flat.

having similar problems....except i've been away for nearly a year now....and the bike was in the workshop. it came back repaired, but has sat in garage for like 6 months, so the fuel may need draining out as it may have gone "off"

if it doesnt wanna start after that then im screwed if i know what it is.....

because its a similar problem to what i had before it went to the workshop!!

Any one got any ideas??

sorted it a long time ago, took the plugs out on a nie hot day and left it in the sun for about 4 hours, put a charged battery on it and its been fine sine, i think it was where i tried starting it when the battery wasnt fully charges and got frustrated and tried to start it on half throttle and flooded it
