Low revs running problems

My ZXR has just recently started having running problems at lower revs and sounds boggy.
At first start its fine and sounds sweet then 1min after it will go boggy and sound like its not running on all cylinders. It will stay like that below 5000rpm, above that and its fine.......
If i give it a good run it seems to sort itself out but then going back to it does the same thing again. It takes a few turns to start and has cut out on me twice when pulling up to a junction and stinks of fuel when its running boggy on idol.
Had the bike 6 months now and this is the first problem i have encountered. Can anyone help please!

hi and welcome to the fourm

6 months and you only just found us?
You may have just got some crap in the carbs, people here will laugh (longstanding joke) but run some Redex through and see if that clears it up.

I have run some through but still no joy....was doing the same thing earlier on me was sounding boggy and lack of power below 5000rpm. Riding it for 20 mins is sorted itself out was running perfect and sounding great but prior to that woudnt start properly and when it eventually did get it to start it was sounding boggy asif it's being choked (checked the choke cable thats all fine)

crickey, you already tried the redex? If you popped it in today youll need to ride it around a bit first, its not instant.
Next thing i would say would be plugs. How do they look? I had a problem last year where the bike would run but under about 4k revs it would a bag of shite. I changed the plugs and its fixed.
got a video here actually.

If it sounds anything like this then it will either be the plugs or HT leads need changing.

I cant really tell on that video...the only way to explain the sound is it sounds like putting the choke on when running hot.
Also it seems to fire up in all 4 cyclinders but then drops one.....i think one it over fueling maybe a bent needle?

Might be a needle, although its been ok for the last 6 months why would it be bent now? Unless youve done something to the carbs recently, other than dirt in the carbs id bet theres nothing wrong with them. The fact you say it drops a cylinder (or appears to) tells me its a plug or something related to it.
Whip them plugs out and see whats what, if it is a fuelling issue then the plugs will tell you.

fantastic!
Have to disagree tho, theres nothing bad about spending fuel money to ride the thing, its worth every penny!!!!
