There is no service schedule on camchain, it is down to how the owner thrashed the tits off the bike.

Not a huge effort to do yourself with being a side canchain and plenty info on here to do it, but you do need to know how to spanner or at least want to learn.

A shop will hit you with anything from 180~500 GBP depending on their regiemn shocking

Better you check your valve timing , shim gaps & what travel has been used on the tensioner and understand what the bike is needing to be done to it than wild guessing.

o rite thanks for the info :smt002
the last 2 previous owners are older then me :smt003 and are bike fanatics :pmsl
in the last 2 years it has done 60 miles and been kept in a heated garage ,under cover and on trickle charge. so as far as being thrashed , i would say no to that :smt001

there are no funny noises or rattles from the engine either .

Change fluids with it being sitting (Oil, brake & coolant) & use n go

Still no harm in checking clearances yourself though :smt001

Well get out there then :smt003

Camchains in my bikes last 32~35,000 miles and I do abuse them !

My Gpz used to sound like a skeleton having a :wanker in a tin biscuit box until I sorted it smiler
