decided too refurb my alterntaor/stator cover but taking it off i found a small puddle of oil poured out, so im guessing a seal has gone slightly, is this a common thing that need maintaining or do the seals last a while?
as far as i know behind the stator there should be a crank shaft seal sat on the crank, pushed into the casing? just wonder what size these seals are? i cant seem to find anything anywhere for "kawasaki zxr 400 crank shaft seals" and i dont dare think what kawasaki would charge me directly so id rather get the measurement and buy my own cheap from a seal specialist place i know also i dont have to split the engine do i, just pope out with a screw driver and tap the new one in evenly?
would be very appreciated if anyone knows the specific size or has one lying around they can check for me! thanks!
