Simon_ed's ZXR (77.2 bhp) L2

Post by simon_ed »

Full Beet TI system
Flatslide carbs
Head skimmed/gas flowed
Kent adjustable cams
Kit airbox/ram air
+0.5 pistons
Lightweight tank
Lightweight rear disc
Lightened frame and swingarm
Rear brake is scooter caliper with modified caliper bracket
Quick action throttle
Cbr 600 coil sticks
Maxton front and rear

Making 77.2 bhp and we haven't fully set the flat slides up yet or put an ignitech ignition on it, so when it's complete I'd say 80 bhp is possible

Mate nice work :smt003
I found with the ignitech that there was not so much in the way of power but able to smooth it out all the way through. Getting the flatties to really bark will though !!!! A graph would be nice & what are you revving to? Also what correction factor was applied on the dyno, yours is almost exact spec as mine.
Will have to get motivated now to get the other engine done.
Cheers,
MB

It was DIN and smoothing 5

Don't know what happened to the bottom bit but we literally just put it together and ran it, the flatslides were off another bike

Oh and it's a standard cdi not been chipped, which I think is 14,500 rpm

well happy with the bike, just need to do a few little bits to it to get it race ready and then see how it goes at Mallory with NG at the end of the month

Just rebuilt the motor after it had dropped off in power by about 6 bhp, replaced the valves as they were knackered, as new 0.5 piston rings, SP bottom end inc gearbox, clutch........here's hoping she gets near the 80bhp mark....

Not had chance to ride it yet, just wanting everything setup properly on the dyno then find a trackday and give it a blast
