Hi, How are you all. New to the Forum so i thought it would be rude not to introduce myself. I'm from Aberdeen, riding a VFR400 at the moment but hoping to change that to a ZXR400 in the next month once i find one i want.
Looking forward to the fine weather coming along cos I'm fed up freezing my fingers off up here!

Well i am now an official ZXR400 owner, picked up an L1 on Saturday.
Going to strip her down and give it a good clean first then work out what to do.
Any suggestions on things to add to my to do list, i just want her running nice and smooth and ready for summer. The VFR can take the battering of salt now until finer weather starts.
To do list:-
Oil n filter change
Carb balance & dyno'd
new brakes
timing belt?
Every time i turn the steering right the throttle cable is pulled so looks like i'll need to sort that. Cable not in the right place maybe?
One rear indicator sometimes flashed then will stay on...loose connection?
Anything else to consider?

you'll probably struggle to find a timing belt in your engine
hope it turns out to be a good one you've bought!

Where the throttle cable meets the handlebars there should be a bit that you can spin round to loosen the cable or tighten it. I have to adjust mine every now and then. Either that or someone else will post and tell me mine is broke toolynners wrote: Every time i turn the steering right the throttle cable is pulled so looks like i'll need to sort that.
