Just came across the site while looking for info on jet sizes. What a great place.

Putting the finishing touches to my wee baby's biggest rebuild since I got it ten or eleven years ago. Was in a sorry state and had been sitting in the barn for a couple of years but I vowed long ago never to sell it and it's been great watching it become roadworthy again. Not far off now and looking forward to wringing the poor wee thing's neck again.

One thing does make me wonder
How on earth have you had a ZXR for so long and yet only find ZXR world now

Must admit I was wondering that myself earlier.
Probably boils down to them being pretty sturdy little bikes. Other than feeding it consumables it's never asked for much so I've never had to find information before.

This time round though everything was goosed. It was living outdoors for a few years, being ridden year round and I was skint. Wasn't pretty, probably quite enjoyed it's rest.

Yeah, SP. Japanese grey import.
Not that I knew when I bought it. It's previous owner had fitted a dual seat and the car dealer who'd ended up with it sitting in his showroom corner didn't know.
I didn't even know there was an SP model.
By one of those strange quirks of fate the lad who'd had it before started working in the same company as my dad. One day my dad and I swapped bikes for the work runs for a change of scenery and when he recognised it in the carpark the lad commented "I've still got the old seat lying in the garage if you want it".
Was a very happy bunny when I got my hands on it and seen that little red R.

Had only had the bike a couple of months. I'd wondered why the pillion pad was attached with a home-made bracket and would have sussed it when I got the manual but at the time I hadn't even given it any though. Only knew I liked it.

Have ridden a standard model(a fresher L5) back-to-back and the owner of that and I agreed there wasn't much in it. We both preferred the SP gearing and yeah, it's a little livelier but the L5 was no slouch either. The only thing instantly on his shopping list were braided hoses.
