Evenin all..

Don't want to upset any of you, but today I became the proud owner of a ZXR400, 1993 model, with only 500 miles on the clock...

FOR FREE!!!!!!

Sounds unbelievable I know, but it was a friend of my wife's whose husband needed the space in his garage. It needs its 500 mile service - any hints and tips?
PS Have already been advised that Cradly Kawasaki are the A1 for parts, and certainly handy for me in Kidderminster. Hope to have it on the road very soon.

Man thats some jammy toad! Well all i can say is thats good news! Not sure of the schedule for a 500mile service. It should say in the manuals, an oil change at least at that mileage is probably in order!

Yes, still can't quite believe my luck. There were actually two bikes - the other is a ZZR1100, 1992 model. Also not ridden since 1998 and has 10,000 miles on it. The front brakes were well and truly seized, so it had to be lifted onto the bike trailer. Once home managed to get the calipers removed and the bike is now on my bike lift being sorted out. A friend has decided to have that one and will pay the original owner what he feels it would be worth once on the road, minus the money we will have had to spend to get there. The original owner gets to have his garage cleared of two bikes which he did not know how to get back on the road (and had lost interest in) + some unexpected cash, my friend gets an interesting replacement for his BMW K75RT which has been giving him problems recently, and I get to keep the ZXR400 for organising removal and having the facilities to get the ZZR back on the road with the minimum of expense.
Have just been checking out the prices of batteries for the ZXR - Cradley are quoting £70+ for the one as fitted by the factory. I can get cheaper elsewhere - is the original equipment one worth the extra money?
