Hi

I am new to the forum. Great place with lots of info.

I have now a Kawasaki ZX9R 1998 which I have had for 5 years I think. Before that I had the GPZ600R 85 and then a ZXR750 1994.

I loved the green/blue/white ZXR750 I had and I miss it like hell.

Now I am thinking of buying a ZXR400. I will sell the ZX9R because it is just too fast. I just lost my licence for 3 months and I was damn lucky I did not lose it for 2 years.

So the plan is to get a GSXR1000/R1 for track use or something else. But I need something for the road too.

I love turns and I really liked the ZXR750 I had going throug turns. I am looking into importing a newer ZXR400 from Japan or maybe from Germany and that is why I joined the forum. Have some questions about it.

My plan is that the ZXR400 with it's lower power will be fun to ride in corners, but not propell me to those insane speed that the ZX9R did.

I know the ZXR400 is pretty fast when it is whiped, but I would not go as fast on that compared to the ZX9R hopefully.

First I had a plan to buy a 400cc Supermotard, but that would not give me the thrills I need. And I would surely lose my licence for driving on one wheel :)

Well glad to be here and looking forward to getting some of my questions answered about this pocket rocket. :)

Regards

Hi

Hopefully fun at a lower speed than on the 750?

Me and a friend of mine (which also lost his licence in the same incident) like to ride the twisties around here and hopefulle the 400cc ZXR will be as much fun as we need to have without breaking the speed limit with too much.

I am a little bit worried that the ZXR400 will be too small for me. The ZXR750 was pretty "racelike" with much weight on your hands and that ment it had to be driven fast to be comfortable.

Well the ZXR400 looks really good and it would be a lot of fun I am sure.

definitely round the twisties, the zxr400 is much better than the 750. i regrettably sold my zxr400 for the zxr750 and hated every minute of it.

Hi

I am back again.

I see that that the the first post was back in 2005. Time flies. I still in love with the colours of the ZXR400/ZXR750.

I got my license back after three months in 2005. Then I sold the ZX9-R as it was just too fast as I am crazy.

I bought a Suzuki GSX-R1000 K2 racebike which I did 4 races and a lot of practice weekends on in 2006. I was 8.th in my class in 2006 after those 4 races.

Things have changed a bit since I moved the crazyness to the track. I fell off a snowmobile in 2007 and hit my head real hard and I was flown away to hospital all over the place.

I was lucky as the head on my body was not at all importent :smt001 My throttle hand is more importent.

Well I am at that stage that I want to get a ZXR400 again. It goes up and down. The other day I wanted a BMW 330 coupe instead of my winter/dailybeater the VW Golf I 1983. Then I wanted a Honda CBR1000RR. And then a Tesla Type S or a Roadster.

I am back to my initial plan of getting a ZXR400. I found one for sale in Norway. It is a 91. I would still like a L9 from 1999 or 2000. But there are nothing around. I will try to see if I find anyone that import fro Japan and see if that is a solution.

I got to see through this forum and see how the market is in the UK.

The dream is not over it has just begun.

Great to be back again.

Regards

Martin

Hi

I could not find the correct place to post this so I post it here and hope I get an answer.

I have read here: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=3612&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

I want a L model. I would like the twin headlight model. But since I want a L model that is not possible. Okey. I read on the thread above that there are changes made on the L model and onwards.

However I read here: http://www.zxrworld.co.uk/zxr400/models.html that the L9 has this: "1999 L9 model with greatly improved engine with different crank & head.colours of lime green/white or ebony/metallic eventide."

What I should go for is a 99 model or newer then?

I have found one in Germany which looks good. I will do some checks to see how much it will set me back to get it here. And if I can get anyone to check it out for me down there.

I would like the "newest" engine. So that means the L9 model then or what?

TIA

Regards
