ZXR on the way...

Hi, just want to introduce myself to the forum!
I'm picking up my ZXR on Sunday and can't wait. It's a return to biking for me after 11 years without a bike to my name, but plenty of high performance Japanese Rally cars.
But I've never looked forward to anything more than when I get on that ZXR at the end of this week!
Thank god this site exists...
Regards,
Mark.

Thanks Rob!
But I'll be picking it up by van I'm afraid. After 11 years I'm a little cautious and just want to get it home, admire it, check it over and generally make sure everything is just right for that very first ride...
Sad, but there you go...
Regards,
Mark.

Definitely. Have had my head in the car world for years - so have visited this site as a guest for months before making my decision (it was a ZXR400 or an RS250)...

Mark.

Hi Zimm. Yes, it was a very tough choice - love the look of the RS250, but I don't think that the ZXR is too far behind in the looks department (and hopefully as fast and hopefully far more robust)?
Regarding cars, plenty of trick. I've just sold my awesome Impreza STI Type R. I've previosly owned a Lancer GSR Evo I and a Pulsar GTI-R. I currently own an original Beemer (E30) M3 and a little Polo G40. Hundreds and hundreds of pics, but this is a ZXR forum!
Still looking forward to that little ZXR more than anything in recent years though!!
Regards,
Mark.

well, be quiet then .. Baz wont notice ..
im a bit more oldskool, newest i got was playing in an integrale .. would match my mates scooby to 120, but by then it was practically redlining, mates just bought a jap spec 2 door scooby with 400+ bhp .. thats nice .. he's 19 .. he's a git.

Now, about that ZXR...
...The Integrale was an awesome car, but I always passed it by for another car, scared of its reputation for fragile build quality. I regret that. A bit like the RS250? Your mates 2 door Impreza is a Type R (retna) then, like I just sold. Very handsome car. If he's claiming 400+ BHP though, he may well have a lot to prove on scoobynet. Being only 19, they may possibly hate him also...
...and so it's just three days now until I take possession of the little beast.
Regards,
Mark.

Three things.
Firstly, Hulloooo.
Secondly, how is pink subtle?
Thirdly, there's a place called Mark. I passed through it today.

integrale's are ok unless you start modifying them, easy to get way more power out of them than they can really cope with, and the shells tear if you go bonkers in them too often without a cage welded in. ours was a 16v (pre evo, so big turbo and lots of lag) with a chip, so about 260-280 bhp.
aye type R, ally panels, lots of trick stuff, his father is a semi-famous (60's-70's) race driver, he's been racing classic cars since the ACU would give him a licence and drove a 360 modena at goodwood last year .., I dont doubt for a second its got 400+ bhp.. he's a git... nice guy though... which kinda add's to the git score.

Hello Vard.
If only I could have made that pink more...pastel...
Don't worry though, my ZXR is in Kawa green - and not the mauve/pinky paint job (which looks great in the metal I am sure...)
Never met a bad 'Mark' yet...
Regards,
Mark.

My older brother is called Mark, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Green is good, while I do like the cherry black, it's not right on a Kwak somehow...
