Just curious how much does racing for a year generally cost (if its not too personal a question)

For me with every thing in from crash damage to food £19000

But if you want to have fun and just injoy racing and not try to win with bike allready and some spares no pratice days or testing you are looking at £3000-£4000

Most top riders they engines cost £2000 - £3000 to build

One weekends racing with Bemsee

Practise day £100
Race weekend £180
Tyres £230 ( use scrubs for pratice day some times like M.R.O. we used 2 sets of tyres
Petrol bike and travel depends on circuit roughly £100
Food from thursday night till sunday evening (4 off us) £80
Beer i dont drink but could be £20 say

Thats all if you dont crash ( god dont roll on march :smt003 )

We allow £1000 a month to go racing that does cover nearly everything but i have a loft and shed full of spares

I carry every thing bar Frame and swing arm and full electrics other wise i have usally 2 of every thing from gaskets to leathers

Kb-zxr will that do for you mate

Hi Sloweracing. I cant work out your budget :smt017 You say £1000 a month, and the season is eight months long? But your total expense for the season is £19000 :smt017 So maybe a bit more expense if your "going out to win" But surely spending £19000 you must get prize money to subsidise your budget :smt017
I think this will put alot of people off racing (looking at your budget) but
i did seven meetings last season, including the last mro at brands, had 3
podiums and one win!! Total expense £3500 (including a secondhand engine) Tyres? Supercorsa pro's £167 a set including delivery.

If you race M.R.O. and have had podiums then you know what prize money they get

I had a bad year of crashing and making a fast engine and keeping every thing running from caravan to car to make sure we race if your budget is less then thats good

I'm Happy you get your tyres cheaper but i use the same peson all year i get a better deal and some help on my racing on whats right and what wrong

On a race forum Leighton walker put down what he spent on a
year in the M.R.O and it was more than mine :smt006

I dont just do club racing with one club i raced with three clubs last year and did a M.R.O. plus all pratice days now does it add up or do you want to see my reciepts

Good Luck Kris-cross (who are you then :smt018 )

We spent near to that last year on the zxr as well doing mro and clubracing

Hows he putting people off racing its not cheap to win or do well and at leats he has broke it down in terms of what we pay you need to look at the whole picture we all can just go out and race but how do you get there and all the time before setting up the bikes / dyno time / servicing things as well

I think thats spot on slower

Good luck next year good to see you doing well at brands in the mro
