help please my bile will not rev passed 10000 rpm, tried every thing. any suggestions will be much appreciated cheers

uk full power, blue ecu and ignitech, interchanged.

if its failing to rev out with both ignitions then.......

it it running on 4

carbs all ok ?

all 4 plugs ok

cam timing ok

after that I'd guess you might have serious issues

running on 4
3 sets of carbs tried
2 sets of plugs tried
2 sets of coils tried
2 sets of inlet rubbers tried

was running ok before, 70 bhp now will not go passed 10000rpm, s farts and backfires

perfect power curve upto 9500, then it drops its bag

Still sounds very much like a restricted CDI...........clearly its not but I cant think what else would cause it to just stop at 10K

before the winter lay off. ran ok ish on the first dyno run, tried to iron out a flatspot at 7000, didnt work, put back as it was, now will not rev passed 10000, but strangely no flatspot at 7000

I do know that ZXRs seem to really hate being laid up...............always gives me problems getting the damn things to fire up even after a full rebuild.

Could it be a damaged diaphram in the carbs ?
seems to me that since it's the carbs you have tinkered with that is where the problem might lie ? ?

what happens when it gets to 10k?

It revs fine upto about 9500 then it s and farts and struggles and wont get passed 10k

The ECU has failed. Happend to me last year - only at 12,000rpm. Revved great to 12,000 and then just "borak down" - lss of power, misfire etc etc.Change the ECU for a known good un

sounds like the speedo jap spec limiter is causing the problem
check the igniter for a pink wire does it have 1?
this wire has to be grounded thru a 10K Ohm resister
should fix the problem
Or the intake snorkel has been taken off.the top of the airbox.......

thanks to everyone for their input. the bike is sorted. cansa was right, way too much air. infact the bike has been so good we have taken second in the 400 streetstocks this season with ngafter missing 6 rounds . fantastic
